Many participants have created blogs and begun posting. 多くの参加者は既にブログを作り、投稿を始めています。In this post, I'd like to introduce a few topics from these blogs that we might discuss in class. この投稿では、参加者のブログから授業での話し合いのネタになるような内容をピックアップしたいと思います。

• Stereotypes

For example, Eriko wrote in her blog that about stereotypes she's seen in Japanese movies. 例えば、Erikoさんのブログには、映画に見られる日本人のステレオタイプに関するコメントがありました。We might spend a little time in small groups listing stereotypes about the nationalities in this class that we've seen in movies, etc. この授業に参加している国や国民に関するステレオタイプのリストを少人数のグループで作るといいかも知れません。

Tiffany wrote that she's careful to avoid stereotypes. Tiffanyさんは極力ステレオタイプ的な考えを避けようとしていると書きました。


• Fujisakigu Autumn Festival

In her blog, Erynn mentioned the Fujisakigu Autumn Festival. Erynnさんのブログで、Erynnさんは藤崎宮秋季例大祭について書きました。There are many topics that might be discussed in this regard. この関連で話し合えるトピックはいろいろあると思います。For example, we might talk about the treatment of horses in the festival. 例えば、馬の扱い方について話し合うといいかもしれません。


• Staring at foreigners

This issue was mentioned in the Kumamoto Life blog. 外国人がじろじろ見られることはKumamoto Lifeのブログで話題になりました。


• Spontaneity

Kumamotokillaz wrote that Japanese seem to be less spontaneous in the sense that they seem hesitant to do things on the spur of the moment. Kumamotokillazさんは日本人は急にどこかに行こうと言っても、なかなか行ってくれないと書きました。前から計画されていることでなければあまりしないのかな？


• Ambiguity

Misako wrote that she thinks Japanese people tend to be more ambiguous. みさこさんは「日本人は曖昧にする」と書きました。This might be interesting to talk about if we have some concrete examples. 具体的な例があれば、話は面白くなるかもしれません。


• Smoking

Tomomi hates smoking. Tomomiさんはタバコがきらいだそうです。We might talk about rules and manners related to smoking. タバコ関連のルールやマナーについて話すといいかもしれません。
