Today, as a warm-up activity, I'd like you to make up a short "once-upon-a-time" story in each of your groups. 今日、本題に入る前に、"むかし、むかし"の話を作ることをグループの仲間と楽しんでみてほしいと思う。
First, choose a member or your group to begin the story. まず、話を始める人を決めてください。You can choose any way you like, but perhaps "jan ken" is a good method. 好きなように決めるといいと思う。じゃんけんも決め方の一つだろう。 The person who goes first makes up a sentence that begins "むかし、むかし" (once upon a time). 最初の人は「むかし、むかし」で始まる文を作ります。The sentence should be written down, in simple Japanese, on a piece of paper. 簡単な日本語で文を紙に書いてください。Make sure that everyone in your group understands the meaning of the Japanese sentence. グループの全メンバーが文の意味を理解していることを確認しながら進めてください。If the Japanese that a foreign student suggests sound unnatural as Japanese, other members should suggest ways to improve it. 留学生が使った日本語の文が日本語として不自然な場合には、他のメンバーはより自然な言い回しを教えてあげると良い。
Then, going around in clockwise order, the next person adds another sentence in Japanese in the same way. 次の人（順番は時計回り) が同じ要領でもう一つの文を加える。Continue until 15 minutes have passed. 制限時間の15分までに続けてください。
At the end of this 15-minute activity, one representative of each group will read the story that you made together. この15分間のアクティビティが終わった後に、グルーブの代表の一人に読んでもらいます。
