Facebook

Last week I posted a video about the Cuban missile crisis in our Facebook group.  先週、このゼミのFacebookグループで、キューバ危機に関する動画を投稿しました。In class, I told everyone that your assignment for our next meeting would be to write a comment in our Facebook group either about the video or about something that has come up in class.  授業で、次回の課題はFacebookにその動画または授業で話題になったことについて何かを書き込むことだと言いました。So far, only one participant in the class has written in our Facebook group since our last meeting.  今のところ、授業があった先週の木曜日からひとりしか書いていません。I hope to see several posts before Thursday. 火曜日までにいくつかの投稿があることを期待しています。Yoroshiku!

Trip Itinerary / 行程

Saturday the 9th、9日（土曜日）

• Departure from rotary, near main entrance 正門近くのロータリーから出発 (8:00)
• Ferry フェリー (Arrive at Kumamoto Port at 8:45; 8:45に熊本港到着; arrive at Shimabara Port at 10:15; 10:15に島原港着)
• Michi no Eki Mizunashi Honjin 道の駅みずなし本陣 (10:30-10:50)
• Lunch at Harajo Onsen Masago 原城温泉真砂で昼食 (長崎県南島原市南有馬町丁133, 0957-85-3155 (11:30 - 12:10)
• Remains of Hara Castle 原城跡 (12:20 - 1:00)
• Ashiyu at Obama Onsen 小浜温泉の足湯 (1:40 - 2:00)
• Nagasaki Catholic Center Youth Hostel カトリックセンター長崎 (3:15) We will check in and leave our bags here. チェックインして、荷物を起きます。(095-846-4246)
• Oura Cathedral, Glover Garden 大浦天主堂・グラバー園（バスが熊本に戻る）
• Shikairo (champon restaurant)　四海楼でちゃんぽんなど
• View from Mt Inasa 稲佐山から夜景を楽しむ (8:00?; 地図/map; get off at Takaramachi Station and then walk to ropeway)
• Nagasaki Catholic Center Youth Hostel カトリックセンター長崎
 You must return no later than 11:00 PM. どんなに遅くとも11:00までに戻らなければなりません。(地図/map; get off at Matsuyamamachi Station and then walk through Peace Park; the peace statue looks very nice when it is lit up but the lights are turned off at 9 or 10)

Sunday the 10th、 10日（日曜日）

• Breakfast 朝食
 You can buy coffee for 100 yen but food will not be provided. Saturday evening you must buy something to eat in the morning. コーヒーは100円で飲めますが、食べ物はでません。前の日にパンなどを買っておいてください。
• Urakami Cathedral / 浦上天主堂 (Early risers may attend mass until checkout at about 9:30; 早く起きる人は9:00ごろのチェックアウトの時間までミサに参加できます。)
• Peace Park / 平和公園 (We will walk there.  徒歩で行きます。We will meet Mr. Hayasaki, a hibakusha, along the way.  途中で被爆者である早崎猪之助様と一緒になります。)
• Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum 長崎原爆資料館 (We will walk there and remain until about 10:45 or.  徒歩で行き、10:45ごろまでいます。)
• To the trolley to Dejima and/or China Town.  路面電車で出島および中華街に移動。 (地図/map)
• Return bus 帰りのバス (3:00発、湊公園から; Leave at 3:00 from Minato Park;  地図/map; Minato Park is at the end of China Town that is farthest from Urakami, where we stayed)
• Trip ends at Gakuendai 学園大で解散 (18:00)

Expenses

Though I am late, I have finally finished calculating our trip expenses.  遅くなりましたが、やっと旅行の経費等を計算することができました。英語ですが、次のとおりです。 

All exchange students will benefit from the subsidy provided by the Faculty of Economics but I am asking the Japanese guests who are not formal members of our seminar to pay the actual cost.  In the Japanese that follows, I explain the subsidy and how I think we should divide it. 交換留学生全員はsubsidy（補助金）の対象者扱いにしますが、私のゼミの正規のメンバーでない日本人については実費の5,350円をお願いしたいと思います。補助金の事情を説明します。経済学部は経済学部所属の学生かつ私のゼミ（学年に関係なく）の正規のメンバーに対して、このゼミ旅行の宿泊費と交通費を支払います。今回その対象となる人数は15名です。留学生のなかには、私のゼミを履修しているが、経済学部所属になっていない人もいますが、経済学部所属ではないということで、これらの学生は補助金対象外となっています。また、経済学部所属であっても、私のゼミを正式に履修していない日本人や留学生も対象外となっています。去年、この補助金制度がスタートしたときに、経済学部からの補助金を、対象外とされる交換留学生とも均等に分けることにしました。その理由としては、日本人に比べて、留学生にとってアルバイトをすることが困難な場合が多くこと、またゼミ旅行の目的の一つは留学生との交流であることが挙げられます。私のゼミに正式に所属していない日本人の方については、この遅い段階で申し訳ありませんが、実費をお願いしたいと考えています。この条件を明確に説明することがたいへん遅くなってしまったことをお詫びします。もしこの条件ではお金がかかり過ぎるのであれば、教えてください。その場合のキャンセルは残念ですが、理解できます。

Places we will visit

This map shows the places we will visit on our trip to Nagasaki.  この地図は長崎への旅行で寄るところを示しています。You will need to refer to this map on your smart phones from time to time while we are in Nagasaki when you use the trolley to move in groups around the city.  長崎市内で移動する際に、スマートフォンでこの地図を参考にする必要が生じるでしょう。
