In order to receive an "A" in this class, you must do the following. この授業でAの成績を取得するためには次のことをしなければなりません。

• Come to class on time　遅刻せずに授業に出席すること
• Participate actively in discussion and activities　授業で自ら進んで発言し、ゼミの活動に積極的に参加すること
• Write regularly in your blog and/or on Lang-8　マメににブログ、またはLang-8に書くこと。
  After each class, I would like you to write comments on your blog about we we talked about or did that day. 授業の後に、話し合った内容や授業のアクティビティー等に関する感想や意見を書いてほしいと思います。I will often refer to these comments when we continue the discuss, or begin a new topic, the following week. 次の週にはブログのコメント等を取り上げることが多いと思います。
• Participate in the seminar trip if at all possible　できる限りゼミ旅行に参加すること
  Participating in the seminar trip is not a requirement. ゼミ旅行に参加することは義務ではありません。I know that it is not always possible for everyone in the class to participate in weekend events. 週末の行事には全員が参加できないことがあるということは理解しています。However, if you cannot go, I will expect a clear, concrete reason. しかし、参加できない人から明確な理由・事情の説明を求めます。 If you cannot go, I will ask you to do another assignment instead. 一緒に行けない場合には代わりの課題をしてもらいます。
• Write a essay on your blog at the end of each semester summarizing your experiences and impressions in this class　学期の終わりに、ゼミの内容やその内容に関する自分の感想をまとめる文章を書くこと
  I will explain this requirement toward the end of the semester. 学期の終わりごろに詳しく説明します。

In order to receive credit for this class (a "C" or higher), you mush to at least 60% of the work described about. 単位を取得する（つまり"C"以上の成績になる）ためには、以上の60%以上をしなければなりません。
