In your small groups, discuss the following questions. 少人数のグループで次の質問について話し合ってください。Then decide on a question or topic that is most interesting to you as a group. 次にグループ全体として、もっとも興味をもっている質問やテーマを一つ選んでください。

• Age 年齢 
• When you meet someone for the first time, do you want to know if they are older or younger than you are? 始めて人に会うとき、相手自分より年下か年上かを知りたいと思うか？
•  In your country, would you speak differently or have a different attitude toward a person who is a year older than you are as opposed to someone who is a year younger? あなたの国では、相手が一年年上、あるいは一年年下によってあたなの話すときの態度や言葉遣いは変わるか？ 
• In your country, are university students generally viewed as "adults" or "children"? あなたの国では、大学生は一般的に「子ども」それとも「大人」と見られているか？ 
• In Japan, a proposal has been made to lower the voting age from 20 to 18. 日本で、選挙に投票できる年齢を20歳から18歳に引き下げることが提案されている。Do you approve of this proposal? この提案に賛成か？ 
• Legal suits 訴訟 
• Some people whose applications for certification as Minamata disease patients were rejected chose to sue the government. 水俣病患者の認定が認められなかった人の中に、県や国に対して訴訟を起こした人がいる。Do approve of such suits? こうした訴訟を起こすことはいいと思うか？ 
• Generally speaking, do you have a positive or negative view of using the court system to address grievances? 一般論として、訴訟を起こすことについてはいい印象を持っているか、それとも悪い印象をもっているか？ 
• Nuclear Power 原子力 
• The nuclear reactor in Oi was restarted on Sunday. 日曜日に大飯原発が再稼働した。Do you support this? 再稼働に賛成か？ On Friday, many people demonstrated against the restarting of the nuclear plant. 
•  金曜日に、大勢の人が原発再稼働に抗議して、デモをした。Do you have a positive of negative view of such demonstrations? こうしたデモは概ねいいと思うか、それとも良くないとおもうか？
