Trip Costs / 旅行の費用

In this post I'd like to explain the costs involved in the trip to Minamata and why I collected the amounts that I did. このポストで、水俣旅行にかかった費用や集めたお金の金額を説明したいと思います。

The following table shows the costs per person. 次のテーブルで、一人当たの費用を示しています。

The money for Hot House that I collected from you was a little over two-thirds of the total I gave them. 皆さんからもらったほっとはうすへの800円の合計は、謝礼として差し上げたお金の合計の2/3強でした。

I wrote that the cost of the bus to Minamata was 0 yen. 熊本から水俣までのバスは０円と書きました。I forgot, however, that I paid a little more than 6,000 yen in toll fees. しかし、6,000円あまりを高速料として払ったことを忘れていました。Just think of it as my little gift to those of you who participated in the trip. ゼミ旅行に参加した皆さんへの私からの小さなプレゼントだった思ってください。

The following table shows how I calculated the money for the barbecue. 次の表はバーベキューの費用を示しています。Mr. and Mrs. Miyata did this for us at a very low price. 宮田さんご夫妻は非常に安くしてくださいました。I'd like to express my appreciation again. 改めてお礼を申し上げたいと思います。

Assignment / 課題

Last week I asked students to look for information about Minamata disease on the web and then write about what they found on their blogs.  先週は水俣病についてネットで調べて、わかったことなどについてブログで書く、という課題を出しました。Here are some examples of what students did. こういう投稿がありました。

  A photo of Minamata Disease patient's hand and I think it was a hand of a child.
  The photo gave me a grate shock. 水俣病に体が犯された子どもの写真を見ました。大変ショックを受けました。
